Subject: Got my PPR
  Dear Friends,
I just received my passport request last night. Following is my timeline: http://www.canada-city.ca/canada-immigration/posting.php?messageid=13175

One think I did not mention before was that I have lived and worked in Toronto, Canada before on a work permit for 16+ months.

I am currently on an H1B visa in the US and I plan to do my landing next Tuesday.
Please, I need a few questions answered or pointers:

1. I plan to go to Buffalo in person next Tuesday and hopefully have my visa stamped the same day. Is there a checklist already compiled for the documents, procedures, cash$$$, addresses, job listings etc. online?
2. I plan to move to Canada in two months and this trip will short; say about two weeks. If I do need to stay longer, is there a limit on how long I can stay there considering I have to come back to the US (H1B) to pick up my luggage?
3. How long does it take to get the PR card in mail?

Thank y?all for being so helpful. I will post my experience and help others future.

love
-j

Dear Jay!
I´m so happy for you! Nice to hear you´ve got your PPR almost immediately.
I suggest you go and stamp viza in person to Buffalo because by mail is a longer and takes more nerves. It could take up to 4 weeks if not to say longer.

Congratulations! I applied around the same time from buffalo Sept 2004 got AOR Jan 2005, but one slight difference they did not say waiver but sent me medicals in Dec 2005 - does this mean waiver? Sent in med in Mar2006.
Now if it is a waiver maybe I am hoping June??
What about your Police clearance? I would appreciate yr reply
