Applying for Canadian PR is like playing Russian Roulette. You just never know what is the next move is. I can not believe that Canada which claims to be an "Advanced" country, could have such a broken system.... I expected this kind a system from a third world country but not Canada. But on the other hand, when u look at the quality life of native ppl in Canada, one wonders if Canada is truly a western society or another thrid world country....

Well sir,

I guess if thousands of people apply for immigration to any country every year the same will happen, so I think the problem is not Canada but the amount of applicants, can you imagine assesssing millions of papers ? and choosing the ones who would contribute to the people and social system in Canada?

They just simply cannot accept everyone enter the country, they have to be careful and picky in their assessment...

So wishing you patience...good luck

Nonsense [**.100.153.150, It the system which has failed,
I believe the ppl entering US(all kind of visa´s) is much more than in Canada. So if they can process so many applicants so fast why can´t Canadaian embassy improve?
I am sure US guy´s do more through scanning compared to Canada guy´s, they simply suck.

cheers,
pal

I agree that Canadain system is broken to a point that it needs to be re-written.

there is more applicants than Canada accepts every year. You have a choice... go to a system that once the year is full- you can´t apply any more. use the current system where you get in line and wait until you get to the top of the list... or take the last option - which is not to come at all.

Canada is going to accept 250,000+/- applicants every year- period. I would favour the first option.

Definitely. It is a choice really and when you make it you have to play by the rules. It would be nice if it was quicker but what you have to realise is that, people move to canada on permanent basis therefore screening is thorough and takes time. Rather than the US which processes a lot of non-immigrant visas quicker. On the other hand. Non permanent stay in canada from where I live takes less than an hour to be processed and collected. I am waiting for my permanent residency status but i have to be patient. The choice is yours really.

Joe,
Different timelines for different hemispheres. Check the CIC website for processing times and your AOR should have told you how long before you hear from them.
Good luck and be patient.

When I sent an email to Detroit for status, they´re response is that my application is in process, and not to query further until 18 months has passed from AOR date.
