  Hi there,
Ithought I would drop you a line as I can see that you are doing everything that is in your power to get ANY INFO regarding your wife´s file. I can very much relate...
I called the processing office in Bucharest this morning - and I actually got to speak to somebody :-)I mean I have been trying to call for weeks - with no luck... today must have been my lucky day. She was able to tell me that normal processing time is 6 months, however sometimes it gets processed with 5 months. She also advised that 6 months count down is from thr date you have been approved as a sponsor by Mississauga office - that was a big relieve for me (I thought it was from the day the overseas office started the processing). She advised that my husband´s file is being assessed by immigration officer, that they have received his medical, and it´ fine... not a whole lot of information, but better than nothig.
So, I am thinking that may be you should call the overseas office to get a peace of mind.
Anyways, I wish you good luck and all the best.
Romashka
p.s. I will update you when / if I get my CAIPS notes.

Hi there,

My sis applied for sponsorship by her husband last november..frm wat i remember, she got approval in principal within 3 months from application and another 6 months for the PR (immediately upon successful interview). So in total, it took her 9 months to get her PR. Hope this helps.

Dear Romashka,

Thank you for your posting. As you probably already know, the decision has been made for my wife. We hope it will be a positive one.

After you posted, I phone in Beijing as you suggested me. They could not give me much information. Nothing about my case. They only tell me that it takes 6 months... And the day after, the e-client wrote decision made.

I know that they always say more months than what it actually takes. Otherwise, we would be desperate. And they do not want to be bothered too much because they want their time spent in working on the cases and not answering telephone.

I will post the information about the caips notes I will receive so that you have an idea how long it takes. And I will tell you how long it takes before receiving the letter from the Embassy.

I hope that you will be reunited with your husband for Christmas. Keep everybody inform. The best of luck
