Hi All,
This is to request infomration regarding PCC and medical certificates. I´m planing to file for immigration.
1) Do we need PCC from India if living in US?
How to get US PCC, if you are on H1-B? FBI?
2) Do we need Medical certificate along with main application?
3) What is prefered approach? through lawyer or self-filing?

Hi Rajind,
In future kindly mention under which category you want to apply. It will help us answer your question in a better way.
1) Do we need PCC from India if living in US? How to get US PCC, if you are on H1-B? FBI?
You will need to get PCC from all the countries you have resided in for more than 6 months since you turned 18. I suggest you visit the CIC website www.cic.gc.ca and download the immigration application guide for the category you want to apply. It clearly explains how to get FBI clearance.
2) Do we need Medical certificate along with main application?
Cant answer the question unless I know which category you want to apply. If applying as skilled worker you do not need to get medical done with the main application.
3) What is prefered approach? through lawyer or self-filing?
Depends upon you. I suggest that you read the immigration guide and look at the forms. The process is pretty simple but it is your choice in the end. IF you decide to take professional help check the CIC website to see who can represent you.

I´m applying as skilled worker category from Buffalo.
I have downloaded all the document from the site and filled it. I got stuck at three things.
1) I lived in two countries since I turned 18. US and India. I´ll get clearance from FBI and I assume it´s requirement now to have it with application. Right?
My question is on Indian PCC. Do I have to attach that too with application. It´ll anyway will be valid only for 3 months.
Another thing mention in the guide about PCC is about PCC of all teh family members. Does it mean it requires all the family members´ PCC or just who are applying? In our case myself and my wife.
2) About Medical stuff. I got the clear picture now. Thanks.
3) English scores? I have professional working experience of 6 years, did Masters in India and currently doing MBA from US. So, do I have to attach any certificate to prove english scores?
Second part -- Myself and my wife both will be applying. She has master from India but do not have any working exp. Do I have to prove her english score?
