It´s going to cost 209 dollars to import the car. They have a list of cars/trucks etc... that are allowed to be imported.
You will need a recall letter that details if there are any outstanding recalls on the vehicle. These have to be taken care of before bringing it to Canada. The recall letter should state that there are no outstanding recalls on the vehicle.
Bring your title to the vehicle.
Once in Canada, before you can licence the car you will have to have an emissions test, and they will tell you at the border what changes your vehicle will need to make it Canadianized.
Customs will give you Form 1. Make sure there are 2 stamps on this form. One stamp will come from the border people, and the second stamp will come when you have it federally inspected.
Once inspected, and tested, and changed, then you can get it licenced and plated.
You will receive in the mail approx. 2 weeks after you land, another form (form 2 i believe) from the border/customs detailing what needs to be completed on the vehicle and the time limit on such changes. You take this form, plus Form1 (given to you when landing) to have the vehicle federally tested. Canadian Tire will do the changes and emissions testing. There is a listing of all the Canadian Tire Stores which will do it cross Canada.
