Subject: If your initial Application is INCOMPLETE......
Do they also return your FEE with the application...

I mailed my application yesterday and discovered today that now the Buffalo Consulate requires US Poilce Clearance with the initial application itself.

Should my application be deemed incomplete and returned, I will abandon my Canada plans (have gone through enough pains already in gathering the docs for the application, can´t stomach anymore).....but my worry is about the fat Cashier Check I sent them....Will I get it back....

Your experience or that of your acuaintances appreciated.

its a fact, u need to include the clearance with the floder or they will return it all.. u should send ur fbi thing now so that when the file gets back u would have saved time.

I dont care about Canada anymore. Canada is not worth taking all this pain.

Just tell me (only if you know from experience) whether they will return me the FEE.

Cool Chosen1. They will send a letter asking for FBI clearance and you could do it well.

Who´s this crazy John?? What does he know??

Hi Chosen1,

There are two scenarios:

1) Buffalo accepts your application without FBI clearance. In this case your application fee is gone.

2) If Buffalo returns your application because it is incomplete they will return the fee.

You can just wait and watch.

^Sounds Good.
Both scenarios are acceptable to me (though I would wish they had the sense to give us some notice before changing rules).

rules (in reply to: If your initial Application is INCOMPLETE......)
not sure when you applied but CIC is very clear about several things. 1) all the documents that are require- they even tell you how to answer each question. 2)They give you a checklist to make sure you have not forgotten anything, and finally, 3)they make it very clear your application fee is non-refundable. If you did not bother to read it, or chose to ignore the information... who´s problem should it be. You cannot be bothered with Canada?... may I suggest that Canada cannot be bothered with anyone who feels hard done by because the refuse to read instructions.

Sharon, will you just stop being the mother hen? People are allowed to express their opinions as this is a free country. If you don´t like what someone is saying, don´t friggin´ read the posts.

Sharon,

Would it not make sense to give a slight notice before quietly changing wordings in the check-list.

If they don´t accept my application, they better refund the fee. The NON-REFUNDABILITY clause should only apply after I am sold a product i.e. they have accepted by application for processing..

FInally, nobody needs your sermon here.
