Subject: Cover Letter
I am applying for permanent residence as a federal skilled worker. I have collected most of the documents I need and am about to sent my application out. I am wondering if I should attach a cover letter or not. I heard it is not necessary, but I just want to make sure. Since Enslish is my second language, I am going to have to ask a professional to make me one, if I need it. Please give me an advice. Thank you.

Cover Letter is not necessary and sometimes can make things worse depending on the quality. If you can get into a PNP program the wait time will be years less. Depending on your occupation and location it might be a better solution for you. It is changing only one form and to apply for the PNP certificate. Might be worth the look, 50% applications completed in eight months all visa posts.

Good idea, I think, as it indicates why you are sending all the documents and what the documents are for, e.g., permanent residency. My cover letters list, in an order corresponding to the order of the documents, what exactly is enclosed in the envelope. I even put each set of documents, e.g., transcripts, letters of reference, fingerprints, etc., in a separate folder and label the folder, but I´m obsessive and most probably don´t do this. Good luck.

Civer letter is a good idea. I wrote one. But, it is optional. Mine was brief.

Thank you, everyone. I think I am not writing a cover letter, since it seems that it doesn´t affect the process too much. I will spend more time in checking the documents. Thanks again!

organising documents for submission (in reply to: Cover Letter)
Bob,
I filled my documents in clear folders and numbered each folder(and supplied a content page as the cover) and place them in a very nice file. They asked me to remove all clear folders from the file and hand it over the counter as they did not want my file, say security reasons. Oh well I can just see the clear folders being messed up now.
