Thanks, harp, IDO, mircea Candice, & especially waiting and waiting!

waiting and waiting, I really appreciate your info. Upon your info, I´ve decided to follow the same photo spec. as my initial application (standard immigration one). Also, I will write my eye colour and height in the cover letter and attach a photocopy of my BC driver´s license.

Another friend of mine thinks these are for Maple Card (PR Card), so I´ve checked the application guide for my reference. If so, I may need a "guarantor´s signature" on the back of my photos??? What do you think?

I agree, she. I think mine was quicker because they had to examine only me.

anony, I sent out my application the end of November 2004.

Mircea, thanks for your info! Someone from my country became PR last week and I could get to talk to her today. Her PPR was from Seattle, but she was not requested anything else but her passport, too. FYI, our passport does not have our eye/height info.

Thanks!

Hi Ritea,
Congrats!!! And I am really happy for you:)

Just one tiny question...what size of prepaid envelope should we provide to the CIC? And did you use Fedex ground express service? How about Post Canada Xepress?

Thanks!

http://www.fedex.com/cn_english/tools/envelope.html

I think this is the one I used. It was the smallest I found at their self-service station at Kinko´s. I used
FedEx Int´l Priority.

Because I had to use FedEx for return and opened up my new account with them, I used it to send as well. But, as long as you enclose FedEx envelope and waybill for return, Canada Post Xpress should be fine for you to send your passport, I think.

FYI, FedEx Waybill

Good luck!

Thanks for your info, Ritea!!!

In the passport request letter from New York, it is said that" We will NOT RETURN you possport using courier services such as FedEx". Does CIC only us U.S. Postal Service Express envelope? I am a little bit confused...Did you get the same thing in your letter from Seattle? Please help:) Again, thanks your detailed info!

Hmm, it´s different from mine. Mine says

[Return of your passports - Addresses in Canada]
"If First Class Mail is not acceptable, please provide a completed FedEx air waybill and a return FedEx courier envelope..."

By the way, I was also provided with an white envelope. It´s about half of the letter size. So I put my documents in the envelope and put it in the FedEx envelope.

FYI, my letter also says
[Mailing your Passports]:
"The security of your passports is important to us. We strongly encourage you to use United States Postal Service Express or Priority Mail (if in the USA) or FedEx Courier Service (if in Canada). This allow you to track the delivery and return of your documents."

Good luck. :)
