or as i read read in this forum many people submitting their pccs after submitting the application and when a request of pcc is received from visa office, after the submition of main application and file number is created.

there is not long waits at the Paris embassy. On the checklist, they ask for police clearances. (it is different than the internal background check that is done at the end). Send the embassy exactly what they ask for at time of application. Anything else and you add months to your application time. If they have everything the first day, it is easier for them to waive your interview.

a little more...we got our skilled worker file number within 6 weeks of sending in our package. We are in the middle of step 2.(examination of application). almost immediately after we got our AOR, they requested a second proof of funds, a employment confirmation, and a renewed passport! (the one thing we did not see was that they need at least 1 year left on your passport). We sent them our documents October 1 but the eclient site has not changed our status. Make sure you send everything by courier or post with a tracking number, and don´t be to discouraged if the eclient is not changing. I am hearing many reports on this forum that the website information is very slow in changing. We are waiting now to find out if they will waive an interview. We applied with French as a first language but did not do any formal test. My fiance would have to go to another country to write his exam and it was just too expensive. we are hoping and praying that they accept his written proof of language proficiency. If CIC is fair, they will know that all formal education in his country is in French.

Our Service Standards document says 7-13 months without an interview but the CIC performance review on the website says it is happening much faster than this. I hope the website it right.

Don´t get confused about the PC and the background check. PClearances are provided by you. Background check is done by CIC (without your assistance) after you complete your medical exam.

Good luck to you.
