Subject: Slowest application ever!
Applied at Buffalo under SW category
Submitted all documents including ELST results
Applied on April 2004
AOR on May 2004
Submitted additional docs on Oct 2005.

Haven?t heard anything since then, I recently wrote an email to Consulate few days back and got this reply:

"This letter concerns your recent inquiry concerning your Application for
Permanent Residence to Canada.

Your application is waiting to be examined by an officer.
Unfortunately, due to the large volume of files processed at our office,
We have not been able to assess your file as quickly as we had
previously anticipated.

You can expect to hear from us again in the coming months. Thank you
for your patience and understanding."

Anybody have any idea what?s going on?
Anybody with similar timeline or situation?

Sorry to hear this, yes, it is very slow.
Buffalo is slow that is why they distributed application to various visa posts in the US. What is your country of birth ? the backgroud check might be under way.

Hi, I am in the same situation ,applied in April 2004,AOR May 2004 ,... and also think that they might be really busy because I sent an e-mail to Buffalo and instead of the Early 2006 or the Final Review, the answer was:

"Owing to extreme volume we are unable to respond to further status checks. Should additional information be required we will notify you."

I have similar timeline. Applied March 2004, AOR April 2004. Med Nov 2004. Interview April 2006. Still waiting to hear from them.

I have noticed that all Buffalo applicants who applied in March, April or May 2004 have been subject to security check.

Am I right?

Cannot agree more. CIC Buffalo is a painful processing centre these days... It´s hurts to know that employers desperately want you to stick around ...you have all the steam and qualifications required ... but the wait just keeps you guessing as to when the PR will finally arrive. It leaves you with so much of an indecision, especially if you are with family w.r.t. real estate or other financial investments. Not sure if CIC Buffalo sees it that way .. or they just think they are doing a big favour for skilled immigrants.

Thanks a lot for replying to this posting. After seeing your replies I know, I am not the only one being neglected by processing center, This wait has been it is very frustrating but your replies make me feel a lot better. Now I know I am not alone.
-Thanks again
