did hiring a legal representative make your application easier? faster?
Was it worth the fee?

CIC applications are designed for people to do it themselves.

if-
-you do not have good enlish or french reading comprehension
-you are not very good at following written instructions
-if you are not good at surfing the net to answer your questions
-you are not willing to get answers to your questions on an immigration forum
-if you have extra money
-if you can´t be bothered

... then hire a consultant

know this -
-using a consultant does not change the speed of your application
-using a consultant does not guarantee everything is correct or complete
-using a consultant does not guranatee you get answers when you want them.

remember this...
-nobody (not even a consultant) cares more about the outcome of your application than you do. ask yourself - who do you want to trust with your future ... a stranger or yourself

treat your application like a university essay.

gather your information,
read the questions, go back get more information. understand each question.
put it away for 3 days...
go back, make sure you answered every single question with an answer or N/A.
proof read.
ask a friend to read it for clarity.
organize it using the checklist.
use the checklist to insure you have provided everything requested.

make a working copy and a final copy.
Keep 2 of everthing.
Keep a full set (copies are fine) of everything you send to CIC for your records and reference.

never send anything to CIC that is not registered mail or courier.

when in doubt - ask. there are lots of people willing and ready to help if you get stuck.

good luck
