Subject: Timeline from West Africa
My husband and I have a spousal application pending. We applied last July, my sponsorship was approved in 2 weeks and we have waited all this time until finally last week he had his interview. His medical expires this week. We know of only 2 people who have successfully come to Canada from West Africa, and they both received their PR Visa at the time of interview or the next day. My husband received no information and I received another e-mail saying that the file is still being reviewed. If spousal applications are given the highest priority, why all the delays?

Can anyone out there share their stories about spousal applications from West Africa?

Thank you.

You must understand that certain countries are known for their fraud in west Africa. A spousal sponsorship if not prepared properly will result in an appeal or at least an ADR.

Stop using phone cards and send tons of snail mail. If you have lots of snail mail send it all to the visa post concerned.

If refused contact me and I´ll assist with the appeal process.

What is an ADR? (in reply to: Timeline from West Africa)
I am not familiar with all the lingo, sorry.

So it does not matter that we talk on the phone 2 or 3 times per day, it is still snail mail the immis want to see? Wow, nothin´ like getting with the times!!

Do they not have measures to determine what is fraudulent and what is not? After reviewing the file for months, I thought they would have checked that out.
