Subject: Quebec Immigration-QUERY
  Hi all,

I am thinking of applying for permanent residentship via QUEBEC student class. I just want to check the some information.

I heard that you can apply via Quebec, get your permanenet resident
card. Once you get the permanent residentship, you can go anywhere.
You do not have to stay in Quebec although you have applied via their immigration program. The same day you have been issued the PR you can leave to ontario, alberta , BC etc and live and work there.

It does not make any sense to me. Then everybody would apply through Quebec not Immigration Canada because is faster and easier.

Please share your opinions with me.

Your right in assuming everyone would apply via Quebec if it were that simple. The only difference I know of and it´s only what I know is that you have to at least have an understanding of French as first or second language.

Good luck & let us know if you come up against any other obsticles.

You have to sign to say you will try and work and live in Quebec - I think it´s for about 6 months, and they´ll see from your tax forms what you´ve been up to.

Just found this info for you also -

Yes, Quebec is different. There are three ways to qualify in Qu?bec which are well presented here:

http://www.immigrationfirm.ca/quebec.html

You may qualify either with an assured employer or profession in demand or EMP list.

For the first two (assured employer or profession in demand) if you claim you have a reserved job in Qu?bec or if you claim your profession is on the demand list, you MUST meet the NOC description.

If you apply under EMP (Employability and Occupational Mobility selection grid), you DO NOT have to meet the NOC description. Same principal than federal for this last category.

- You can under EMP but if you don´t speak nor understand French at least to a moderate level, there is not much ways you will qualify.

schedule 5 (in reply to: Quebec Immigration-QUERY)
schedule 5 is a declaration of INTENT - once you are a PR there is no obligation. (not a day not 6 months). you got the constitution to protect you.

idea behind Quebec immigration is that french speaking people will want to live there. most people who qualify for quebecwould qualify for the federal. Quebec offers more option.

if you have been to Montreal, you´ll know why people wnat to live there!

What about if you´ve been accepted as SW immigrant through CIC? Can you land in another province and then simply move to Quebec?

Not sure that answers the question.

If you immigrate to Canada as a non-Quebec Skilled Worker under CIC rules, then can you move to Quebec? Or are you forbidden and must apply to move to Quebec even though you already live as a Permanent Resident in another province?

I applied for PR in QC as a skilled worker and have an interview scheduled in a few weeks. What kind of questions can I expect? Is a good knowledge of French necessary (my job requires only English and other languages)? Thanks!
