Hi Guys,
I applied for PR on Feb 04. Got AOR on March and IA on October.
I have been notified that I will need an interview in Detroit (not my first choice). I am just wondering how long it will be before interview will be scheduled.
Also, I read in another forum that if I get the CAIPS notes and read why my interview is required and send documents for support to Detroit they might waive your interview. How likely is that?

Just to share my timeline.
Applied : Dec 2003
AOR : Jan 2004
IA : Aug 2004 - Informing that I will require an interview; where and when will be informed in another letter. Waiting for that other letter. So you are in a better position.

Hi Deepak,
You should order CAIPS notes. You will get an idea about the concerns of the immigration official and so you can prepare for the interview.
When your file is eventually transfered to Detroit an immigration official will look at your file. Some time the immigration official asks the applicant to send additional information. If the officer is satisfied by the additional information s/he MAY grant you interview waiver. Let me mention that this happens in very few cases but this should not deter you in providing additional information that strengthens your application.

I am very surprised that they have not told you where you are going to be interviewed. I suggest that you apply for CAIPS notes. You may get some additional information.
