Subject: Applicants from Singapore?
hi everybody

Any applicants from Singapore? I applied for PR in Jun 2004, still at processing stage. Any idea how long will the whole process be completed?

Many Thanks.

Hi Neal

What is HRDC? does it mean you have secured a job already?

I submitted my docs in Jun 2004 to SG CHC, received a letter within 2 weeks confirming receipt of my application.....since then the status has been "we have started processing your application since 8 Jun 2004".....no further progress after that.

I wrote to them about the timeline and the reply was they will start processing those(i.e. in 2004) from end 06 onwards. Judging from your sis case, I think it should take about 3 years to complete. One of my friends just got it after 4 years.

As for IELTS, I followed the instruction to take the test, so did not question them on the need of it. Anyway I dun think Singaporean is considered as a english speaking native.

Hi GGG,

Yup i have a JOB offer recongised By Human Resource development centre. (HRDC)

Sadly , SG CHC has a lot of backlog since 04..thats why taking such a long time ,and applicants from our neighouring countries had to apply thru there too hence the backlog.

Did u have ur interview waived after the IELTS test? Im asking cos i have registered to take the test even before asked to do so . Hopefully , my interview can be waived.

I wish u best of luck , and hope u get yr PR soon.

Hi Guys, just to let you know that my application was filed in Mar 2004... same case, no response yet. I took my IELTS test to claim for the maximum points. Anyway, like what was mentioned, those in 2004 will be processed probably in 2007, so everything should be finalised in 2008. Long time indeed.

By the way, is it easy to get a job in Canada without PR first?

Hi, everybody

Just to update you on my progress, hope it will benefit you and others.
I received a letter today (26 Oct 2006) confirming that I met the pass mark of 67 of assessment.

In the letter, it says that the next stage will be to ".....demonstrate that you and any dependents are admissble to Canada. admissibility requires financial, medical, security and criminal screening of your application." It also says that i will be issued medical instructions sometime in 2007.

For interview, the letter says that "if called to interview, you are expected to appear...." No estimated time given.

So anybody received the same letter? what is the progress after that? how long will it takes?
