| Subject: Need Info regarding police checks. |

Hello folks,
Am an Indian. Was applying in family class for immigration to Canada. Had previously lived in the USA for a duration of 3 years. For a complete application, I need to attach Police Certificate from the FBI. Was wondering what this FBI certificate contains? For example does it have my driving record or previous marriage record or any finance credit/debt record? Did anybody here previously lived in the USA and later applied to Canadian Immigration or obtained an FBI police record?

Yes, it is basically your finger prints taken at the police station, that you send to the FBI along with $18.00 dollars money order per person. Send it with a cover letter stating a request and your address etc, plus the finger print card and money order. They will run all the checks and then send you the cards back. That is what you would need to send to CIC.
All other records has nothing to do with the FBI police record. Hope this helps.

So basically they check if I have had any criminal record like, did I do a jail term etc? or?
Does this FBI document show any civil marriages? for example if I was married earlier and say my marriage was annualled- will this show up in this document?

Just states that you have no (criminal or arrest) record"
e.g., "no record"
