Subject: Proof of language proficiency
  I am Indian, on H1b in US. I have done all my school, college in India in English and being in SW industry ofcourse use English.

should i take IELTS test ?

Or, if i have to submit the other evidences, does any one has a sample letter, what other docs should be provided ?

I am yet to start my Application submission

just take IELTS, othewise wait until they ask, it may delay your case

Paying money is the easy part.
IELTS is tough exam man..need to prepare a lot..

dude, if you can´t pass IELTS at least 6.5, how you gotta live in Canada?

Where u r or which medium u studied it is not a matter but u have to go through the IELTS. It is mandatory requirement to qualify for the Canadian Immigration. U can visti the officila Canadian Immigration site and u will find all the information very clear and precise.

I applied canadian immigration from Germany in Jan.2006 and I got the file no. in feb. 2006.At the time of applying, i claimed 25 pt. education, 17 points for exper., 10 points for age and 18 for language(16 for english and two for french basic). I still did not get any letter from Embassy to take Ielts test, but I appeared myself in may and got 0verall 7 band with Lis. 7, reading 6, writing. 7, speaking 8.Now I have some confusion that without french I have 66 points cos in ilets it comes to 14 pts??Can some somebody give me some information that the visa officer can give me one point for my french languge although it is just a certificate from the university that I have taken 60 hrs basic french language. Please help me.. or i will take Ielts gain and try to score in all parts 7.

I will really appreciate ur valuable oppinions....

Can you tell me how to find out my score,I hv filed in jan ´07, age 34, 7+ yrs in the IT industry,Bachelor´s in Engineering .any idea?
