Subject: immigration help
I applied canadian immigration from Germany in Jan.2006 and I got the file no. in feb. 2006.At the time of applying, i claimed 25 pt. education, 17 points for exper., 10 points for age and 18 for language(16 for english and two for french basic). I still did not get any letter from Embassy to take Ielts test, but I appeared myself in may and got 0verall 7 band with Lis. 7, reading 6, writing. 7, speaking 8.Now I have some confusion that without french I have 66 points cos in ilets it comes to 14 pts??Can some somebody give me some information that the visa officer can give me one point for my french languge although it is just a certificate ( not a tef test) from the university stating that I have taken 60 hrs basic french language. Please help me.. or i will take Ielts gain and try to score in all parts 7.

I will really appreciate ur valuable oppinions....
thanks in advance.

it does not matter as long as you can reach the pass point but if you don´t take the test now they will -most probably- ask you later on which will delay you for few months, but be careful, if you decide to take the english and did score 7 in all bands which is enough, but you still keep claiming basic french they might still ask you to take tef so if you qualify with english don´t claim french (you can update your application) or keep the french but take the test, this will save you time and hassle later on.
good luck
