Subject: Spousal Sponsorsphip
  Hi
I am a University Student at the moment.I would like to tell u abt my situation in short. and will be looking forward for ur kind advice.I am in love with a girl who is in India and from Diff religion and hence her parents would never let her marry me.( But we are legality eligible to marry each other under the state laws) I wish to marry her and bring her here to Canada. My 3 main questions are. 1) Considering that i am a student, would financial factor be a problem as far as application process is concerned? 2) how long would it take for me to bring her here if i apply for her immigarion right after our marriage. 3) Do i have to stay with her for some specified time before applying for spousal sponsorship, or can i apply right after our marriage?
Since the marriage would be agaisnt her parents permission, and considering many other factors such as me being minority in India , it would not be safe for us to stay long enough in India after getting married ,Would Humanitarian factor come into play in our marriage? I am really looking forward for ur reply.
Thanks a lot ,
Raj

Spousal sponsorship (in reply to: Spousal Sponsorsphip)
Hi Raj.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.

You asked the following:

Q: "Considering that i am a student, would financial factor be a problem as far as application process is concerned?
A: No

Q: "how long would it take for me to bring her here if i apply for her immigarion right after our marriage.
A: Spousal sponsorships usually are completed in 8 to 12 months.

Q: "Do i have to stay with her for some specified time before applying for spousal sponsorship, or can i apply right after our marriage?"
A: You may apply immediately after marriage

Q: "Would Humanitarian factor come into play in our marriage?"
A: Unlikely, but impossible to say without more details. Perhaps you should consider hiring professional assistance, if you truly believe that there is a serious risk.

Sincerely,
Dennis Caul
