hi! i´m 34 yrs old married with 3 kids. my family and i are planning to migrate to canad but we haven´t applied yet... we have all the requirements except the settlement fund. Can we apply even if we don´t have the amount that is required??? Is it Ok if we will apply now and raise the settlement fund after we have filed our application?

Settlement Funds, is one of the requirements to immigrate to Canada. Yes, you can apply now if the wait time at your visa post is hideous, and do explain clearly in you application that you are not able to show proof of funds at this moment but would be doing it at a later date.(If you can provide evidence,that what would lead to you be able to arrange for funds at a later date will also solidify your case)

I agree. Settlement funds is something which is not asked until the IA stage. Unless you have exceptional skills do count on CIC to ask for the funds as you have three kids. Another thing you can do id in meantime look for a job in Canada, if you secure a job then CIC may waive the fund req.

Rachael, thanks for offering to help us in answering our issues but as of now i can´t think of any question aside from the settlement fund. Another thing is that we´re not decided yet if we will push through with the filing our application because it would need a lot of money. However, i really appreciate your offer.

i heard that there is a new procedure in applying for an immigrant visa in canada, that you can apply even if your documents are incomplete as long as you have the filling fee, is this true
