Subject: Urgent PR card
  Hi there
My husband and I am going to land in Canada in Sep.We are not able to stay more than 2-3 weeks and I know that the process of issuing a PR card takes normaly 30 days.I also know that there is another option :to apply for urgent assessment of our application upon entry.
Has anyone tried this option before?Does anybody know how long will this take?I would appreciate your help.....

Urgent PR card (in reply to: Urgent PR card)
According to the following site: http://www.mbb.ca/interview/033105_1e.asp

If time permits, a permanent resident without a PR Card who intends to leave the country may also request that the application for PR Card be expedited. It can be done by including a copy of the plane tickets with the application and write ?Urgent ? Proof of travel included? on the envelope enclosing the application. In that case, the application will be examined on a priority basis.

I found a more detailed info at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/inFORMation/pr-card/apply-how.asp#urgent

You require urgent processing of your Permanent Resident Card application
Complete your application as instructed in How to apply for your Permanent Resident Card on this page.

Include a copy of your plane tickets with your application, and write ?Urgent?Proof of travel included? on your envelope. An agent from the processing centre will examine your application quickly. Your travel itinerary will not be accepted as proof of travel.

If you mailed your application before the processing times posted on our website and have not yet received your card, please send us the following information by fax at (514) 496-8670:

surname and given name
client ID number (if available)
date of birth
home address
telephone number
email address (if applicable)
date you mailed your application (if applicable, include the tracking number)
a copy of your plane ticket and
a copy of the pages of your passport showing your name, date of birth and photograph.

If all these requirements are met, we will examine your request and contact you within two business days to inform you whether it is possible to speed up the process.

URGENT PR CARD RENEWAL (in reply to: Urgent PR card)
I have posted the required documentation for our PR Card renewal by registered mail on 9th April 2008 ( Tracking No.79 270 817 595 ).
On 21.05.2005 I reuqested by a fax application to have priority consideration for the issue of our PR renewal because of our departure for Europe in August and the long time required to obtain four visas ( Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Monte Negro ).
All the required documentation and air ticket copies were enclosed with the above fax.
On 23rd May I received a telephone call from your department informing us that my application will be given priority.
Bearing in mind that we are now running out of time for our visa applications kindly advise when can we expect to receive our new PR Cards.

Looking forward to hear from you very soon.

Best regards

Alexander Hay
