| Subject: No responds for my application |
Hi,
I have sent my immigration application to the Baffalo office for two months, but till now I haven´t gotten the the receipt from the immigration office. Can any one tell me usually how long it takes to get the responds from the office?

Hi,
I applied under the Family Class category (my husband is sponsoring me). The Case Processing Centre in Mississauga forwarded my application to Buffalo on August 6th, 2004 - I didn´t recieve my Acknowledgement of Reciept containing my file number until October 13th, 2004. It took a little over 2 months.
I´m not sure if the amount of time varies for each of the different classes, but I would think that you should be recieving your acknowledgement of reciept from Buffalo fairly soon.

They are two different cases (in reply to: No responds for my application)
Family class sponsorship is handled entirely differently than regular immigration app. Since Feb 2003, family class apps are handled in an expedited manner. Regular apps take a good 1 yr plus. So be patient, you should be hearing from then in a couple of months.
