Subject: We are in Canada, Police Clearance from India ?
  Hi,
I´m on work permit in Canada and I´m here for last 8 months now.
I´ve my family with me here in Canada.

* Am I suppose to provide police clearance "while" applying for PR under Provincial Nominee Program in Alberta ?

* What is the process to get the police clearance from India while being in Canada ?

Thanks in Advance,
Lucky

Hey Lucky,

* What is the process to get the police clearance from India while being in Canada ?

-I assume that the process is pretty much the same for any country (be that India or any other): it is up to you to get the police clearance from your home country. I don´t think there is a "standard" way of doing it remotely. You´ll probably have to find someone in India to make that for you.

* Am I suppose to provide police clearance "while" applying for PR under Provincial Nominee Program in Alberta ?
-Yes, if that is in the list of documents to be provided.

Goodluck!

I doubt you are wrong about this self arranging police certificate. I read somewhere on CIC website that we just need to goto embassy or consulate.

Someone please reconfirm !

Hi Lucky,

There was a similar thread about obtaining the clearence for Russian Federation.

I think that your Ministry of Internal affairs should provide you with the police clearance.

I´d consult this site:

I hope you will find your way - I was answering from my own experience.

goodluck

Hi Lucky

Reg Police Clearance certificates from India, if you are staying out of India, you just need to go to your nearest Indian Embassy and request for one. Check your relevant Indian Embassy site, they would have a Miscellaneous form, fill it up for every individual applicant and attach the fee and submit your passports. In US, for me at Washington DC, they retained it for some 2+ weeks and then I collected it. They gave me a letter of clearance and a stamp on the passport.

Good Luck!
