Subject: how to change visa office ?
  hi there,

I´ve applied for immigration under spouse class and application has been recieved by CPC-M oni June 6,2006 and I opted my case to be processed in New Delhi. But now due certian circumstances I´d like my case to be processed through Buffalo ( I´ve been living in Canada since 2002 on study/work permit and which is good until july 2007).

So tell me how could I tell CPC-M in reagards to this ?

I´ll be thankful to you

not possible for your current application as it will be restarted when received by Buffalo. Sorry.

from what I am reading, you need to show that you will be in the jurisdiction you wish to transfer to for 1 year minimum. It is then up to CIC to determine if this move is in the best interest of the file.

In the case of spousal applications, you have 2 choices - an inland application, which is taking forever ... or an out of Canada application which goes to your home country. Out of country applications appear to be going much faster these days.

If this is a spousal application, I think you must withdrawl the original application and re-apply. You may wish to reconsider that idea.

You can write a letter asking your file to be moved.
Specify your case number and all the info necessary.
should do the trick

Sharon,
worked for me.
I just double-checked afterwards that the file "arrived".

Once again, i am not an expert (not furhter than my experience goes, anyway).

HI Torotonian,

If you look into the posts on immigrations.ca Buffalo processes the application at same speed new delhi. But when delhi takes your PP they don´t return atleast for 1 month. And also my last name is Singh and they ask to change my last name and that would be pain in the butt in india. these are the two reasons.
