Subject: US visa type for interivew
  Hi all,

I was called for an interview (Date not specified) in buffalo. I am in Canada now holding a work permit. My question is, should I apply for US visa now or wait until another letter from buffalo that tells the exact date of the interivew? (the current letter says interview is required and my file is in queue).

Do I apply for B2 (visitor for pleasure) type visa?

thanks.

Apply for PR (skilled worker) in March 2005
English test in August 2005
Interview letter in May 2006

You may apply for a visitor visa usually you´ll get B1/B2 at the same time.

Use another reason for the US visa though, Canadian visa interview does not proof that you are going to leave the US since there is no guarantee that you will be admitted back into Canada.

Processing time if Called for Interview (in reply to: US visa type for interivew)
Me and my wife are in Canada on Student Visa. I filed for PR in Dec 2005 with Buffalo, NY. The CAIPS reports show that my file will be reopened in Dec 06. When can I expect my IA and finnaly my PR. If I and my wife are invited for an intervie, will the process be delayed and by approximate what amount of time ?

I need this information as we are planning to move back to our country and do not want to make a hasty decision. But at the same time satying in Canada and doing McDonald jobs for the next 1.5 years for 20 hrs a week doesn,t make much sense either.
