| Subject: In Canada and out of Canada- which one is faster? |

I recently got married to my girl friend and i want to sponsor her now. She is coming to Canada for study as well. I wonder if i should sponsor for her PR while she is out of Canada (i have to send her application to Missisauga, Ontario) or i should apply for her after she arrive in canada with student visa (i have to send her application to Vegreville, Alberta). I know both way is possible, but which one is faster? Does anyone have any idea please. I would appreciate your suggession.

out of Canada applications appear to be moving faster at the moment.

Thx Sharon. I heard the same from one of my friend....his wife´s one(out of canada...applying to mississauga) took 4 and a half months only. Does anyone else have any experience with Inside of Canada(applying to Vegreville)?

Out of Canad has two stages:
1) approving sponsor in Mississauga. (1-2 months)
2) approving sponsored spouse: in visa office out of Canada. time line depends on which visa office. longest I have seen was 9 month in Cairo. fastes 1 month in India. I have also seen 1.5 month in Buffalo.

Look at the average time line on the CIC web-site, It is an excellent and correct ref. of appox time.

Out, out, out! I applied to CIC in Jan 2005, got approval in Oct 2005 and got my PR last week. It can´t possibly take that long outside...
