Subject: Child born to non immigrant parents
  Hello everyone,
I am a non-immigrant temporary resident IT professional working in Toronto,Canada for the last 26 months. I am going to father in Sep/2006 , Just wondering what will be the immigration status for my child born in Canada. Is he/she going to be canadian citizenship ? if yes how it´s going to affect our non-immigrant status , is it going to help me & my wife to become permanent resident bit faster or it will remain the normal immigration process cycle.
any reply will be grealy appreaciated.
regards,
Brij

Being born in Canada will automatically give him/her Canadian citizenship.

Your kid will become Canadian by birth but that does not really enhance your chances of becoming one... However, it will also not diminish your chances. If you want pursue residency in Canada, do it separately, not linking it to the fact that your kid is Canadian by birth!
