Subject: Mistake in COPR
We have received our Visas & Confirmation of Permanent Residence form[COPR] and we will be landing in Toronto on 10-July-2006. I just noticed that the "Country of Birth" in my son´s COPR form is mentioned incorrectly. Will the immigration officer be able to make necessary changes while we land? Will there be a problem?

Your response will be highly appreciated!
Many Thanks´

If you are close to the Visa Post inform them immediately by attending get confirmation in writing that you have reported same. Also be sure if unable to report it to the Visa Post make sure you do before the Immigration officer at POE puts it into the system. Do you know which terminal yopu´re coming into when you arrive in Toronto.

davgeetc,

We had the similar situation (wrong Country of birth on my spouse´s COPR)

You have two options...

1. You may stop by to the Consulate office which has issued your Visas and COPRs.

2. You may land to Canada (without any trouble) and request to amend the error (check out the site ... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/amend.html)

We chose to stop by to the Consulate office (in the USA)because we´ve plenty of time before landing.

Hope this help you.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for the reply!
We will be landing in "Terminal 3" [Toronto Pearson Intl´ airport]. So the Immigration officer at POE will be able to put the correct "Country of Birth" in my sonīs COPR form which is mentioned incorrectly.

Your response will be highly appreciated!
Many Thanksī
