Unfortunately it does not matter. It?s like a mail processing in a company. There is a central receiving and then processed to different dept. You medicals first go to Ottawa, then they confirm on results to your office of application e.g. CIC-Buffalo.
CIC cannot process it faster as they have to wait for results from Ottawa.
You can cut a few days by FEDEX but maybe 2-3 days not more.
Now you can follow up the medicals and ensure they don?t take more than 8 weeks. I mean after 10-15 days call Ottawa and ask if they have got the medicals and have been forwarded to CIC.
Once they say yes, write to CIC to confirm if the medicals has been logged in your file database.

My experience in dealing with CIC (Detroit consulate in my case) is that they really don´t like to be asked these sorts of questions. They´ll answer with a general reply that your file is in process and not to send such queries as it takes resources away from work on application processing.
I can see their point of view and my thinking is that if paperwork is missing, CIC would contact the applicant for further documentation. Understandably, I think they prefer it this way and probably is more efficient for all of us.

Ok, thanks, Anon. I didn´t reaqlize it was ok to call Ottawa on status of medicals. What would be that phone number or where could it be found please?
