FYI. Ottawa is NOT accepting phone calls asking for status of completed medicals. So don´t even try. This is as I suspected, since they´re quite overwhelmed with application processing workload as it is.
Applicants just have to be patient and allow their medicals and documents to work thier way through the system. CIC will contact the applicant if anything´s missing or needed.
(I haven´t given up on this board yet as I still find useful information here and there.)

Sorry Richard that is how I found out that my medicals were sitting for three months. I was not lying. You will get the same answer from other forums. Just because some make it bad on this forum doesn´t mean ALL do. Again I´m sorry.

Anon,
No problem at all. I think until recently Ottawa was giving medical file status, but they must have ceased this due to the volume of inquiries. So you were absolutely correct in the assumption until we just found out CIC policy has just apparently changed in their giving this information by phone. Your good intentions are most appreciated.

Thanks for your valuable input as always, Richard. I think waits of three, four or more months after medicals are not uncommon. Patience is a virtue and a necessity but difficult to achieve, as all of us rush to the mail box each day to check for the arrival of "that" letter and hope it didn´t drop into someone else´s mail box by mistake.

My medical decision from Ottawa is now pending for about 6 months. All applicants pay a decent fee as part of the immigration application process. Some of us here on work permits contribute extensively to the Canadian economy/ treasury. The wait is unjustified. Indeed it is a hugely deplorable problem that needs to be recognised by the ministry.
