Subject: i just need to know...
im almost 18 and i have a boyfriend from the u.s, if we got married, does that entitle him to work here? what exactly would he be able to do here? thanks!

He will not be entitled to do anything here until you sponsor him as your spouse or if your bf can get a work permit on his own.

I believe once a spousal application is completed and a permanent resident is granted you no longer require a work permit to work here.
Howewver during the 3 months to the unknown amount of time that it takes Immigration to complete the application your husband cannot work here without a work permit

in- canada applications are taking close to a year from what I am gleening from my immigration colleagues.

That sounds about right for in-canada application.
I hear however that Buffalo office is sometimes as quick as 3 months for outside canada applications.
