Subject: immigration lawyer
I plan to apply for canadian immigration under the skilled worker category.
I attended US unverisity and have been working in the US for 4 years
I am searching for an Canadian immigration lawyer.
Most the lawyers in Qeubec and Torono charge between 1,500 to 2,000 US dollar.
I found a lawyer named "Leonard Simcoe" located in Quebec. He only chargs $500 USD.
Cheaper fee is good. On the other hand, I don´t know why there is such a big difference in the fees. The services he provided seems very much the same as other lawyers charging a higher fee.

Any comment on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advanced.

there should be no need to hire a consultant or lawyer. The immigration forms are very clear. They even give you a printout to explain what they require with each question. If money is a problem...do it yourself. Just make sure you do exactly as it says, make sure you give as much information as possible, insuring that everything is accurate. If you have studied in the US... you can do it.

Leonard Simcoe was a nice lawyer, because of all the lawyer he was the one who ask a cheapest fee. May be he understand some people who don´t have enough money, that´s why he was asking cheaper fee than other lawyer.

about leonard simcoe (in reply to: immigration lawyer)
I also considered hiring leonard simcoe office to help me with the immigration process. But this is how it happened: I contacted the office by phone and without many words I was advised to contact them by e-mail. I did that and received the next day an assessment to complete. After I completed the assessment I sent it back and the next day received the answer that I was not eligible for immigration. The assessment is the one that I completed before on the Official Canadian Government web site and already knew that I wasn´t eligible. This is why I needed a lawyer to help me raise the score. I explained that to leonard simco(only by e-mail, no phone calls allowed) but I received the same stupid answer that I wasn´t eligible. I honestly don´t know what to believe, either I have no chance (and will never have) to immigrate to Canada or they only look to help people who have everything they need to immigrate. That is they don´t need extra work (or they can´t handle it) and look for clients who are stupid enough not to complete the file by themselves (easy money).
So I am still looking for an intelligent lawyer to help me with my case. Good luck everybody.

lawyers cannot pull points out of the air - all they can do is make sure you don´t make any errors on your application. The point system is pretty simple and straight forward and on that basis, you either qualify or you don´t. You either fall within the list of NOC codes- or you don´t.

Obviously, you don´t! Check back when the rules change again or try a different country.
