| Subject: police certificate from former USSR |

For immigration purpose, is it mandatory to have the police certificate from Ukraine (former USSR) from where i did my bachelor degree some 14 years ago? I asked this question because i read from some official site that the police certificat should be from the countries where the applicant lived six months or above during the last 10 years. Your kind reply will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
And if someone went through the process of getting the one, could you please share what process i need to follow.

Contact any Ukrainian Embassy or sonculate and they will assist you with the application for your proof of no convictions. Hopefully you were in Kyiv shich would make it easier to attain said certificate.

if you use search you will find the url with the address of the MVD Center in Kiev which you will need to contact in order to obtain the certificate.

I am from St.Petersburg, Russia and I needed the same thing (Police Certificate from Russia). I actually went there to get it. The place that issues thouse is called "MVD Information Center". It takes about 2-3 weeks for them to process the dertificate. You also would need to have notirized translation (another few days).
I doubt you can do it without actually going there. But try to call them and ask.
