Subject: Confused about part of the process
  All,

Received IA. Requested to send medicals, FBI clearance, and Authorization for Release Information Letter.

If after sending these along with FBI results stamped "no criminal record", does CIC then do a criminal background check (adding more time)? Or does CIC then just sends PPR?

Thanks.

If you are a USA citizen and have not been residing in countries other than the USA then that´s the extent of the background check. However, if you are a citizen of another country, here on a visa, etc., or have lived in another country, then you would need to submit background checks equivalent to the ones from the FBI to CIC. Due to complications obtaining records, etc., from many foreign countries, this can entail significant wait time. However, if you are a USA citizen and never lived anywhere else and have no record, its a quickie. Good luck.
