Finally received the golden words from Detroit!!

Contrary to our anticipation, the "you got it" response came via an email.
Applied Dec 04 to buffalo SW
AOR March 05
IA Feb 06 Detroit
Medical early March 06
moved to Canada in work permit
PPR July end

Now I am gonna get photographs ready and mail our passports. Since we are in Canada, I wonder how we go about sending a express self addressed prepaid envelope. Anybody who used such service from canada, please advise.

Now I neede to go and get some booze! The wait is finally over.

cheers!

Congrats!
Use FedEx to send your passports, pictures and a self-addressed envelope. They will ask you to open an account with them and use a credit card to pay. You can open your account online @ www.fedex.ca.

Is it possible and legal to send passport to a country (from where you have applied for PR) to stamp your PR visa? As you are on work permit to Canada, does courier company provide some legal document that your passport was sent for some reason. Normally it takes 2 to 3 months, what would happen in foreign country if some one ask for you passport (at this moment if you are not holding it)

Please clear my understanding.

It took one week to get our passports back from Seattle. FedEx told us to keep copies of our documents.

Thanks folks.

she- can you please elaborate the process? after I open the account online, do I not need to go to Fedex office? But I guess I need an envelope and I need to write my address there. I am confused. Thanks in advance for help.

Call their 800 number and ask for REP to speak to. It´s probably simpler to visit a FEDEX office as they have all the supplies and forms and will show you what to do and you can mail it directly from their office. Otherwise you have to drop it in special boxes or pay them to pick it up at your residence, unless you have an office. By the way, two-day shipping back and forth as opposed to overnight or next day is much cheaper, unless you are terribly pressed for time. Good luck.
