  Hi everybody FYI,

Finally, me with my family made our landing procedure.

My timelines are:

Appl. Sent: March 2005 (Buffalo)
AOR: March 31, 2005
File transfer to New York Office: Feb 2006
IA: March 1, 2006
Med: March 9, 2006 ( My doctor sent out the results on March 21, 2006. I am living 2 hrs. distance from Ottawa. )
Add. docs: April 2006
E-cas chnaged: June 5, 2006 ( "Medical results have been received.")
PPR: June 7, 2006 (PPR letter issued on June 2nd)

I made new passport for PR visa stamping and sent new passport to NY on June 23--- They received it on June 29.)

Passport and COPR: July 27, 2006 (AM 11:45)

Landing finished: July 27, 2006 (PM 3:20) @ Thousand Islands Bridge, Ontario

On the way to POE, I stopped by CIBC and ordered my bank balance statement.

We drove through Highway 401 and paid the toll (USD 2.00 / CAD 2.20) and crossed the 1000 islands bridge. I did not need to stop on Canadian side and directly went to US side Port of Entry (POE)at 2:00PM.

US side officer told me I had two options. One was getting a rejection letter from the US or the other was admitted and then return (On second case, you need to pay US $6/each). Because I have valid US visit visa, I chose second case and made a finger print, eye photo, $6 fee for I-94A form. After that, they gave me I-94A form and yellow paper. Both officers were lady and they were so kindly directed me the way back to Canada.

I U-turned to Canadian side and arrived to POE window box. I showed our passports and COPR with ?I wanna finalize my landing procedure.? She told me where are the place to parking and Immigration & Custom Office.

I went through customs and they directed me to the Immigration Canada office. I went in and the officer was very nice. I gave her my Confirmation of Permanent Resident paperwork and she asked our address and telephone number.

She then noticed my address was also on the paperwork and she asked me how much money I had.

After all documentation works, she gave me all documents and yellow paper with stamping. So I submit yellow paper to Custom side officer and that?s it.

Today I met lots of officers in my life in one day, and everybody were women and so nice and kind. It took just 1 hr and 20 minutes for 3 person?s paper work on both sides all together.

My suggestion is that you put your papers in order by organising them.

Guys, I want to say thanks a lot for the information and experiences shared. It was very helpful and assisted us tremendously with our waiting and landing.

Thanks again,

DAD

Thanks IDO, I also wish your success in Canada.

Hi Brian, you don´t need to do any paper work. Everything done by officer and all you have to do is checking your address, phone number, and signiture on COPR after listening all explanation from officer.
Yes, yellow paper from US side was that I´ve submitted to Canadian side. Good Luck to you!!

Cheers,

DAD

*P.S.: My daughter is Canadian. US side officer even didn´t open my daughter´s passport. I felt that I should get a Citizenship later.

Hi Arun,

I think they didn´t ask that question to me. But during the application for SIN, they might ask your mother´s former and now´s family name. They gave my new temporary SIN immediately.

Cheers,

DAD

Thanks DAD I thought so.

The thing is that I live in the US and while applying for US ssn I actually gave my mother´s current last name as here maiden name (dump),but in canada immigration I gave the actualy maiden name and will provide the same during the application for sin, hope this does not create any problem, is there a way they can cross check it what i provided in the US ssn. Any help is appreciated.

Arun
