Subject: Immigrant VISA received from Germany: Timeline
Only last Saturday I got my passport back from the Canadian Embassy from Berline with the immigrant visa stamped on that. I am Indian and had applied immigration from Germany. Here is the timeline for someone who is planning to apply from Germany:

Sending application form: December 2004
Updated police certificate asked: Novemeber 2005
Medical: March 2006
Proof of settlement fund requested: April 2006
Letter asking passports of whole of my family: Early June 2006
Passport despatched: 06.07.2006
Passport received with visa: 28.07.2006

Note: Interview was scrapped in my case and I submitted so detailed and extensive documents in the beginning that no additional documents were demanded from the embassy thru out the length of the procedure.

Thanks.

hi cristiana,

I didnt receive any initial assessment letter from the embassy. After 11 months of submitting the application, they asked me to submit the updated poilce certificate. Embassy doesn´t tell you how many points you get. Just wait or you can call the hotline of the immigration departement to get the latest stauts in your case.

I must say, e-client is a very stupid thing. Until 26.07.06, i had the same e-client status since the very beginning that that they are processsing my case. On 27.07.06 they change the status to "medicals have been received and decision has been made in my case", but one day after, 28.07.06, I got my passport back stamped with the visa. They received my medical on the 10.03.06, but they updated that info the day they issued me the visa. Even today also my status is the same even though i have got the visa.
Dont count on status. Best is to contact hotline of the embassy.
