Subject: Got PPR, what next at landing |
I got my immigrant visa, just last week. Can anyone help me out how to prepare myself when I land at the toronto airport? What documents to be taken, what is asked, how long does it take, so on? I really appreciate, Thanks

(in reply to: Got PPR, what next at landing) You should bring with you settlement funding proof, valid study permit or work permit, passport with stamped visa, that´s what my relatives had when they landed.
And may I know your timeline, such as how long have you waited for PPR after had your medical exam done?

(in reply to: Got PPR, what next at landing) Don´t forget your List of Goods, and if applicable, List of Goods to Follow.

(in reply to: Got PPR, what next at landing) valid study or work permit? why someone with an immigrant visa would need a valid study/work permit to land?

(in reply to: Got PPR, what next at landing) I am Indian and had applied immigration from Germany. Here is the timeline as follows:
Sending application form: December 2004
Updated police certificate asked: Novemeber 2005
Medical: March 2006
Proof of settlement fund requested: April 2006
Letter asking passports of whole of my family: Early June 2006
Passport despatched: 06.07.2006
Passport received with visa: 28.07.2006
Note: Interview was scrapped in my case and I submitted so detailed and extensive documents in the beginning that no additional documents were demanded from the embassy thru out the length of the procedure.
