| Subject: Is education free in Canada? |
I have heard due to teh social system in canada education is free for citezens. Does it apply to PR. Is it only school or Bachelors degree as well?
Would be nice to know about it

if you are a resident of Canada, you are entitle to enroll your children in public school. Public school (with a few minor exceptions) is Kindergarten to grade 12. University tuition is subsidized but by no stretch of the imagination free.

what do you mean that university program is subsidized?
Does it mean that if I get my PR, me or my wife can enroll in the University and have our tuition subsidized.

If you are a resident of Canada your university tuition is generally less than if you attended the same university as a foreign student. (I cannot tell you exactly how much). Canadian students still complain bitterly that a university education is too expensive and many graduate with a large student loan. ($30-40,000 is not unheard of) Tuitions vary between institutions and between course of studies.

I think the standards for public education are very close between Canada and the US.
