Can a permanent resident re enter canada without permanent resident card if done by rental car?

From United State, Yes with CORP you can re-enter with out PR Card.

Sorry but Katrina is wrong.

As a permanent resident you have the right to re-enter Canada.

PR is mandatory to board any commercial carrier but if you are driving across the border CBSA can verified your status in Canada with the information in your passport.

It usually will take longer than if you enter with your PR card, but you won´t be refuse of entry.
