Subject: To Indians who have landed - Was it worth it ?
This is a sincere question(not a sarcastic remark) to white-collar Indians who have gone through the rigours of the immigration process and have now landed and settled in Canada.

Was it worth it ? Do you ever have doubts about having taken the decision to immigrate to the frozen wilderness that is Canada ? Do you feel sometimes that may be Bharat is not that bad after all.

Thoughts much appreciated !

ps> I am looking for brief comments not 1000 words essay about "Life in Canada".

^Looks like I touched a sensitive chord here...

Guys don´t take it personally... On one of the sites I saw a thread opened by a new Canadian Immigrant that said "What was I thinking ?". So the question cropped up.

Anyways, just like you I am in the Canadian immigration queue too.

Dear Mr. Laloo Prasad,

You refer to Canada as "frozen wilderness" and still expect to get a serious response.

I believe you are mentioning the discussion on canadiandesi.com. Have you read the success stories there? If not then I suggest that you do. I can understand that you are trying to make an informed decision but just read you question once again and you will come to know why you get such a response.

In British Colombia an immigrant Indian became a Premier (= to Chief Minister in India) compare this to the saga of Sonia Gandhi. Yes my friend it?s worth it unless you are well settled in life in India

life in Canada (in reply to: To Indians who have landed - Was it worth it ?)
it depends what you are looking for. Some immigrants do very well here. Others have been very disappointed because it is not what they expected. Most immigrants will suggest that it is hard work and it takes much longer to get established than originally thought. There is no trees with money on them, good jobs are sometimes hard to find and becoming rich...well, I have met folks who have done well after many years of hard work but they are not the majority. If you are want for freedom to think, practice your religion, explore your potential, and have a chance to work hard and improve your future... then Canada is for you. As for frozen wilderness...today is sunny and cold. people are out walking around the parks, playing golf, raking autumn leaves. We like it!
