I remember the day he won the medal and how emotional it was - for everyone! He attempted to run for government in this last election but was unsuccessful. Good thing. I think he has more important things to do. If I am not mistaken - he lost to another recent immigrant!
What was inspiring for me was how his dream has crossed ethic boundaries. Wong, Johal... it did not matter. That is the Canada I know and will fight for until I die.
When I hear the rants around this place about racism and how Canada is not interested in employing new immigrants I am baffled and angered at the insistence that it is the rule rather than the exception. Sure, it can be difficult... no disputing it. But for every bad story there is 100 good ones -maybe not so dramatic as this one... but equally inspiring.

it is night right now in Moscow and raining hard. We
went for a stroll a couple of hours ago with my wife.
We were wet cos we got caught in the rain. She said it´s a good night we can stroll without worrying cos it´s raining and noone is out in the street. This is how it is here.
You know how it is in Nigeria.
Canada CAN NOT be worse!!!

Knowing my options, Canada will have a hell of a competitor coming :-) I WILL NOT GIVE UP. I know there are people making it, so I WILL be one of them.

jolli - you are exactly the kind of person Canada needs. You are not afraid to work hard, to adapt, to take opportunities when they are offered. People like you are what makes Canada strong and I have no doubt in my mind that the benefits will always be mutual.

Adaptation is the story of my life. I came to Russia and adapted. I certainly will Adapt in an English speaking country.
Good luck to ALL whose intension is to bring betterment to themselves and to Canada as their future home. A HOME is what I am looking for.
