| Subject: Does the request to pay RPRF come with IA or PPR? |

Folks,
I have read a lot of posts on this forum. It seems to be that most people receive the request to pay RPRF along with the medical forms and fingerprint request. Is that always the case??? Can the PPR be sent before RPRF being paid????
My timeframe was as follows:
Applied - December 8, 2004 (Buffalo)
File created - March 11, 2005
IELTS requested - July 2005
IELTS passed (7.5) - September 2005
File transfered to NYC - January 11, 2006
Medicals & f-rprints requested (interview waived) - January 22, 2006
Medicals done - March 3, 2006
Fingerprints done & mailed - April 4, 2006
Medicals mailed - June 4, 2006 (don´t ask why such delay - the doctor was an idiot, unable to place ALL papers in one file)
Nowhere along the line I was requested to pay RPRF. Is that something I should have known (and done) by heart or the request usually comes along with the PPR?

P.S. Absolutely silly question, but just to make sure that I am not missing anything: the initial application fee and RPRF are two different things, right?

if you paid $1,495 when you applied in 2004, you would have already paid all fees including RPRF in 2004 it was $975.00 it has since been reduced by 50%. If you paid the complete fee upfront you should receive a refund for half of the money.
The request for PRFR is usually sent before the passport request.

Thank you for your reply. When I applied in 2004 I have paid roughly USD 900 for two people (me and my wife). I was under impression that, at the time, it was called application fee. The instruction in the packet said that once (and if) my case is approved I would have to pay RPRF. It has never being requested beforehand.
What is the current RPRF? I mean, how much would I have to pay for two people (me and my wife) once I receive the PPR?

Hi Greg,
wow, we applied december 6, 2004 to Buffalo too.
Don"t worry about RPRF, they are going to ask for.
They asked for it once ours medicals got there.
And yes, the initial application fee and RPRF are two different things. The amount was $490 in Canadian funds per person.

Thank you for the warm words. Can you give me your timeline? How long ago have you received the RPRF request? Did your ecas change to "medicals received"? If so, when?

if you pay RPRF at this stage you may save yourself weeks of waiting, as when they are done with your application if you already have paid hem they would write you a letter of PPR if not they will write you a letter to pay them and once payment received they will write you PPR letter, and as you know it takes weeks for the letter to reach you from date it was written (3-4 weeks)

Sure, no problem.
Our time line is,
Applied: December 6, 2004 to Buffalo as SW
AOR: March 25, 2005
IA : May 5 , 2006 (more documents, medicals and finger prints required)
Medicals done : May 18, 2006
RPRF : Agost 3, 2006
And now waiting to see if this dream is going to come true.
