Subject: will rejection of common law effect Independent IM
I am a canadian citizen. My girlfriend was under student visa when we applied common in law sponsorship immigration. Unfortunately, it was rejected. Now my girlfriend is under working visa, which allowed her to stay and work for one year. She is going to file an independent skilled worker. Will the previous rejection effect this comming application? I will be very appreciated if someone can give me some help here.

Hi there,
i think I was in a similar situation. I have submitted a sponsorship application under "common law partner" and it was rejected. Exactly a year later we got married and I submitted another application under "sposual class". So, far it has been in the process... I have been approved as a sponsor, and my application has been forwarded to overseas office for processing. It has been finalized yet, so I can´t tell you for sure... but it looks like it doesn´t matter if you were rejected in the past under a differen category. I hope my answer helps you.

can you guide me out (in reply to: will rejection of common law effect Independent IM)
I applied for canada immigration in 2000 . but due to some problem in experience they reject my application. Now I got married and my husband want to put file for canada immigration.

i have following doubt
1) I will be dependant and my husband will be principle applicant, did my rejected file will effect his immigration?

2) the experince which I shown , do I need to declare that experience again? Becaue they ask for activity which i did from the age since 18 year( in spouse form). I can not say i was sitting in home as I shown my experience in my previous file ( which got some problem)

3) And If I will show they might feel that its not proper experience and again they might reject the file???

is it possible??

I am in real confusion ... can any of you guid me out ...

thanks JAYA
