Here are your options :
1. Go back to your country, wait for another 20 years and ask our children to file green card under family visa!
2. apply for Nepalese/Bhutanese/Burmese passport and then try your luck under green card lottery.
3. Go to mexico and then come illegally. Bush is thinking to make illegal aliens legal.
(OR as you have probably already considered:)
4. immigrate to canada and work in "safeway" for 3 years and then apply T1.

(in reply to: For US H1 guys using Canada as a backup plan) Just to clarify on (1) above. You don´t actually need to go back to your country. You can stay right here, keep applying for H1 extensions while your GC process is on. After 20 years(at about the time your GC processing would have moved by a month), your US born child will be eligible to sponsor you for GC. That category , I hear is being processed very fast..its taking only 10 years. So 30 years from now...you will be a proud permanent resident of U.S.A.
