Subject: Travel Documnets....PR Card

Hi everybody,

I got Landing papers recently(Applied for CSQ).I would like to know how long does it take
to get PR card once I land in MOntreal.IS that possible if I gave my friend address
to send PR card and I come back immidiately to US so that he can send me PR card to US address.
Is it good to go this way.Please advice me.If it is...In worst case if I dont get Mail for long time
and I want to enter into canda What I have to do.If I show copy of landing documnets(Valid upto oct 2007)
or I Have to apply for TRavel documets.How log it takes to get Travel Documnets...same day service or I have wailt
for long time as I did to get Immig.I know so many ???? Please help me out.
The Reason to come back soon from Canada is I have job in USA.I can get leave for 1 week only.

Hi James, can you land in Canada with CSQ? If so, then how? What else do you need to land? Please, any information let us know. Cause, I´ve CSQ. Thank you

You need travel documents if you were to travel into canada thru any commercial transportation(such as plane, bus or train). But you don´t need your PR card or additional travel documents if you cross the border in your car. However you should carry your passport and the landing papers along with you. Be ready to answer any questions at the border. Be honest that helps. It is better to wait for the PR card to arrive, unless you have any pressing reason to enter back to Canada. Yes you can give your friend´s address in Montreal (you should) for the PR card to be sent. Your friend can later send it to you through courier to the USA.

We just entered canada last week in car and came back to the USA the same weekend for our pictures to be taken for our PR cards. Since the one submitted originally did not meet the CIC specifications. We also carried the letters that was sent by CIC asking us to come for the photo appointment.

How long did you had to wait since you landed to get the letter for your picture to be re-taken?

We landed on May 31 2006. We got the letter on July 15th sometime. Our appointment date was on Aug 9th 2006. Didn´t have much of a problem. Got through the photos session in 30 minutes.

I heard that people are given two options.
a. take ur own pics and visit cic local office during certain hours of the day.
b. wait for the appoitment date and let CIC take ur picture.

Is this true... ??

I don´t think so. We called the 1-800 number to Canada and spoke to a staff. One of their rep. said that the option of sending photos was not available. However if there has been any changes in that procedure I wouldn´t know about it. You can call the 1-800 number with somebody´s help in Canada and ask them.

My Question is
I have landing papers valid upto oct 2007.
If I enter into canada in this month and If gave my Friend add at border to send PR Card and If I dont get PR card from my friend(iF mY FRIEND DONT REC´D CARD FROM CANADAN AUTHORITY FOR SOME REASON) then Can I enter into canada once again with copy of Landing papers or do I have to get
Travel Documnets.Right Now I am In USA.
