Subject: Sponsoring a Spouse from the Dominican Republic
I was just wondering how long it has taken RECENTLY for other people to get a spouse here from the DR. I am in the process of sponsoring my husband and am trying not to get too discouraged.

Thanks for your assistance.

I am going through the same process all of my info has been approved just waiting on his visa appointment over there. I called the US consulate and they advised me that they had recieved his info in 9/2006 and worst case his appointment would be by 12/2007. Of course it could move quicker. If you have his case number SDO.... you can look to see where he is on the list.

Go to yahoo: type NVC or National Visa Center, click on non-immagrant visas, select Dominican Republic and on the left you can view "scheduled appointments" if he is not there he is not scheduled yet, so click on "waiting list" and you can see where he stands on the list. They update the "scheduled appointment list" about the 20th of each month, good luck!! Oh PS save up your money because you are strongly encouraged to be present at the appointment, good luck!
