a visitors visa will not affect your PR process. However, obtaining a visitors visa AFTER applying for PR can sometimes be difficult because you have declared your intention to stay in Canada at some point.

Depending how far along you are in the process, what the purpose is of your visit, what you are leaving behind in your home country to ´encourage you´ to return home - all these factors become more critical when you apply for a visitors visa.

Seems a good idea, visit Canada, talk to your friends especially who are working in your field of study, and then if you think you can survive in Canada and find a job then consider applying..

Visiting Canada cannot affect your application, but as the guy above said prove that you have got either a job, or some studies, or some property that will make you return to your country...

Good luck

I can tell you that you most probably will be rejected a visitor visa as you have already applied for PR. But it should not affect your PR application.
On the form, they have a section where you have to state if you have applied for immigration and that will affect their decision.
You can try to submit as many documents as you can regarding the link to your home country, eg. bank documents or show that you are working and your employer wants you to return to the job or any other ties to your country. It may help but the canadian officers have a mind of their own. They can disregard all of that if they want to.
