| Subject: Detroit visa wait |
Anyone else sent in their passports to Detroit, and now watching the mailman everyday for their visa? Mine sent Aug. 7. I see from other posts that Detroit issued a large number of PPRs over the last couple weeks, hence the wait.

Guess not. I think this is trivial compared to other folks issues and efforts in getting to Canada. Also, I see heated debates going on here on this board.

Richard, That beer sounds like a great idea. Our passports arrived in Detroit the morning of August 9. I hope it comes back by the time we travel to Maine as we hope to land in Yarmouth, NS the week of Sept 11. I´ve been hearing that it takes 2-3 weeks. I´ll keep you posted.

Hey Bob,
Nice to hear from you. Our passports arrived in Detroit at noon on August 10 (next day after yours did). We plan on heading up from through Wisconsin and cross at Sault Ste. Marie.
I think you´re right about the 2-3 weeks. The PPR cover letter said passports would be available for pickup (as an option) 10 business days after they receive them. So add time in mail transit and there´s the 2-3 weeks.
Please keep me posted on your progress - it´s a good indicator since we´e right behind you. Your sea travel by sail to NS sounds great (if I understood correctly).

Bob, after posting above just checked the mail and lo and behold finally have in hand passports/visas/COPRs. Halleluja - the day has finally arrived. This has been a two year obsession. You should have yours very soon as well.
