Subject: Waiting period from from Buffalo office
It has now been 6 months since the application was submitted. My conjugal partner and I are eager to be together. He lives in Chicago and I´m in Toronto. The entire fees have been paid at application time. His medical, police check, background check and everything was submitted. I was accepted as the sponsor about 6 weeks after the application went in. Now Buffalo has had the application for 4 and a half months.....and no word except that they said, "It is in the Q." How much longer must we wait? I think you can come from India faster than you can from Chicago.

Check the application processing times from:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times/index.html

Do not be in hurry. In some countries processing time is about 4-5 years, not months!

Hi Bill,

My application is a common law application and my sponsor was approved late March and my file has been in process in Buffalo since April 22, 2004 and we have heard nothing from Buffalo. So, Buffalo have had my part of the application for nearly 7 months and we are still waiting. Patience is the key here. I know it is hard, it is so frustrating to wait without any way of finding out what is really happening with your file.

We are all in this together, good luck to you,
Ozinca

Hi Bill,

I do understand your actual situation and concerns. Unfortunately, Immigration Canada is not transparent at all and this is really annoying for the applicants. While immigration is a matter of life for some people, Immigration Canada even does not bother replying applicants. The e-Client status does not provide you any useful information and there is no way for you to get any feedback from them. I hope you receive good news pretty soon.

I have applied in the spouse class: I´m the sponsored spouse. Our timeline is like this:

March 04 submitted application (including fees, police cleareances and medical)
April 04 Sponsor approved.
May 04 application created in Buffalo
Since May I have not heard anything from Buffalo.

This is frustating. In our case there is a three-year old boy involved, who has not seen me during all this time. CIC officers are completely ihumane in the way they treat these cases.

However, let´s keep the positive thinking that our applications are finalized soon.

I heard this from so many friends:

"Immigration Candana, is the worst office in Canada!"

The bad thing is that they treat the applicants like they do not ever exist. But even worse is that there is no rules or regulations to control them. Do not forget that all of us have paid $550 CAD per person for processing our files. Do you think that people have really no right to know how their applications are processed?
